Welcome to online learning

Hi all hope you are well.  If you have been working over the last two weeks you have part of the assignment for this week done already.

We are posting all assignments here as well as on schoology.  Any physical assignments bookwork or worksheets must be photographed and returned via e-mail by the due date.  The discussion questions must be answered on the schoology website.

Step 1:  Answer the activating strategy found in the schoology foler and check your answer with the link provided, Then watch the videos associated with Alternating Series (which have been on the blog)

https://people.math.osu.edu/miller.4962/ximeraLessons/AST/story_html5.html   (alternating series basics)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gs9O255gdEY  (alternating series remainders)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORTI4kk1okM  (altrernating series absolute versus conditional convergence)

Additional resources:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsMom3yNsX8  (Kahn video on basics of alternating series not as in depth as the OSU one above)

http://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/Classes/CalcII/AlternatingSeries.aspx  (this is a nice written site from lamar university for those who don't like video.  It also has nice practice problems with solutions)

Step 2:  Do the assignment from your textbook that is provided and take a picture of it and e-mail it back to Mr. Halstead.  Pg 586-587  #11, 14, 16, 17, 24, 25, 37, 42, 43.    Due date on the book work is Monday 4-6-20 by 12:00 P.M.

Step 3:  Go to schoology and answer the discussion question under the alternating series folder.  Just type your response.

Step 4:  Keep working on your practice exam (due apr 15th) , LCT/DCT bookwork (due Friday), Prediction packer problems.

Step 5:  If you have completed Alternating series videos and understand it get ahead and watch the videos online on ratio and root test if you have not.  That is going to be Monday/Tuesday of next weeks work.  We will then wrap up next week with power series which is the first new thing not on the blog Wed/Thu

(Halstead/Straub notes from last year)

I will post the LCT/DCT hwk answers on the blog Monday morning.

Check both schoology and the blog on Monday for next weeks work and assignments.  Once video has been approved for instruction we will run some kind of review/lesson component in the future.

As always if questions arise as you are doing these topics please e-mail us and I will reply at some point during school hours as quickly as we can.

Thanks (You guys are awesome),
Mr. Halstead
